In order to compare the germination and growth rate of sprouts soaked in highly oxygenated water, specific amounts of dissolved oxygen was produced in a high pressure reactor by pressuring oxygen into water. The sprouts were observed after being soaked in 20¡ÆC oxygenated water, with 20, 30, 40, and 50 ppm of oxygen dissolved in the samples tested. Ten days later the results indicate that the final germination rate of the sprout soaked in 50 ppm oxygen water was 24.6-28.6% higher than that of the sprout soaked in regular distilled water. The final growth height was also measured to be 6-7 mm higher than that of the sprout soaked in distilled water. This study demonstrated that suppling enough oxygen to a sprout induces stability and efficiency in its growth.
